How to care for flowers

To ensure your flowers last as long as possible:

A bouquet of flowers from Bulb to Bunch
  • Cut stems 2-3cm from the base at a 45 degree angle.

  • Remove any foliage that will fall beneath the water line.

  • Put your flowers in a clean vase, filled with room temperature water. What worms can you use for your wormery?

  • Avoid putting flowers anywhere hot, in direct sunlight, or in draughts.

  • Keep away from fruit and vegetables - these produce ethylene which ages flowers.

  • Some flowers and foliage are toxic. Keep out of reach of children and animals. Always wash your hands after handling plants.

  • Keep topped up with water, or better still, replace the water every day or so.

  • Put the paper in the recycling bin.

Enjoy your beautiful flowers!
